The first edition of the Ponton Photo Festival has come to an end.

After five months of displaying artworks in public spaces, the festival has drawn its curtains. The residents of Pointe-Noire and its visitors, who have grown accustomed to seeing these images, may now wonder where the photographs that brightened their city have gone.

This inaugural edition was a delightful surprise—not only for the public, who did not expect to see artworks displayed like advertising posters, but also for the festival team, who could not have anticipated such enthusiasm from an audience sometimes shy about art.

The next edition is already scheduled for November 2026. We promise even more panels, more photographs, and participation from photographers from Congo, across Africa, and around the world.
